TMC Hospitality has announced the arrival of Drift Palm Springs in California. The new boutique property from Drift Hotels, which inaugurated Drift Santa Barbara in February, comes courtesy of Los Angeles creative agency Folklor and locally based o2 Architecture.

The hotel fuses Spanish Colonial style with Moorish desert architecture, while interiors are characterized by an industrial-chic aesthetic with midcentury-inspired touches that complements its setting. “Drift was designed for the modern traveler by providing attainable, well-designed accommodations that stand out from the sea of same; engineered through efficient tech, innovative operating models, thoughtful restraint and clever design,” says Philip Bates, cofounder and CEO of California-based TMC Hospitality. “The hotel honors the magic of the desert while introducing new bespoke experiences, style, and service to downtown Palm Springs.”

A resort-style pool lined with custom cabanas anchors the core of the hotel beside breezy Baja-inspired restaurant Maleza. The upscale all-day concept is equipped with a sleek wraparound bar as well as floor-to-ceiling garage doors that lead to a laidback outdoor lounge. Alfresco amenities also include an indoor-outdoor event space on the second floor and the Desert Lawn, where fire pits and a cacti fence await.

Framing picturesque mountain vistas, the spacious accommodations at Drift Palm Springs boast a materiality of Italian brick, birch wood, and cedar. Abundant greenery and natural light also complement organic elements and earth tones lining the property. Offered in a range of configurations, guestrooms and suites support all types of travelers, with rooms up to 1,630 square feet complete with kitchens and living rooms.
